Announcement of the launch of ONK website

We are pleased to announce the launch of the website of Oranda Nihongo Kyoshikai (ONK, Dutch Association of Japanese Language Teachers). We would like to thank all of you who have helped us so far, and all of you who continue to support us. We will expand the contents of the site, so please bookmark the site and visit us.

Before its launch, the ONK logo was created. ONK is an acronym for Oranda (The Netherlands), Nihongo (Japanese), and Kyoshikai (Teachers Association). The red color of O is of the Japanese flag, the blue color of  K is of the Dutch flag, and the N (Nihongo, Japanese) links Japan and the Netherlands.

We started as a group of Japanese language teachers called Yamucha no Kai. In 2017, we launched Oranda Nihongo Kyoshikai (ONK, Dutch Association of Japanese Language Teachers) intending to build a network among teachers, enhancing teaching skills, and sharing information for the promotion and development of Japanese language education. Currently, we have 37 members. We hold regular study meetings to improve our skills and communicate with other members through the Japanese language, and the members are broadening the scope of our activities.

We are still small in scale compared to other Japanese language teacher associations in Europe, but we will sail like the Liefde, a sailing ship that once arrived in Japan from the Netherlands in the 17th century, and further develop Japanese language education in the Netherlands.  We appreciate your support and encouragement.
